Online Communication, Business Assessment: AMAZON
The Business that first came to mind when thinking of how the internet impacts businesses through social media and other platforms was Amazon, or Amazon Prime. Amazon is greatly known for being effective online and communicating well through its online store and other communication platforms. On the Amazon website, this business shows its number one elements all over its main page. At the top of the Amazon page you can normally see the search bar in the far right, the navigation menu on the left, and anything else you may need right in the middle. Amazon highlights different products on their main page as well as different categories you may be interested in, promotions, and deals or sales. Also, if a customer ever needs more information, at the bottom of the Amazon page you can find information on their policies, customer service, and any links that users may need.
Amazon's website is very well organized, which makes it super easy and effective because it allows shoppers to have access to everything they need easily. Navigation aspects of Amazon makes it easier to find items and deals. Amazons navigation and website is designed for an easy and seamless shopping experience that is eustressful and memorable, which is why so many customers return and why they are so well known.
Amazon also has an impact of a strong online identity because of how consistently they show their branding, logo, and interface. They use social media platforms to engage with customers and promote products. An example of how they do this is on their Twitter page. Amazon often shares product launches and other promotions which allows them to resurface their well known identity as a business that is reliable and safe.
Although there are many things that Amazon does amazingly to brand for their company, they could improve their online communication by focusing on better aspects of customer service. Because so many people across the world use Amazon as a shopping platform, their is a lot of room for errors and mistakes to happen because of the internet, deliveries, products, etc. Customers have been concerned about the support that they are able to receive in the past. Also, Amazons business could improve its sustainability in many ways, considering how large their company really is.
